OFFICIAL PRESS SAYS... After a short break Flux Recordings is back with a killer release of a techno classic with remixes from Perc, Valmay and Chris Finke. Trackman was the techno alter ego of dance music legend Mark Archer (one half of the groundbreaking acts Nexus 21 and Altern 8 among others). In the mid '90's Mark put out a series of straight up techno EP's under the name Trackman (on the Ideal Records imprint), which showcased some amazing forward thinking techno from this genius producer. "Don't Stop" is the most revered and sought after of these tracks, possessing what is generally thought to be the most sinister bassline in techno. Released in 1996, we are pleased to be able to resurrect this monster. First up, Flux boss and Atomic Jam resident DJ Chris Finke has crafted a clever and respectful edit of the original track. He has Subtly overlayed dubbed-out percussion, crisped up certain elements, while keeping the vibe and starkness of the 1996 original mix well and truly intact. Valmay (aka Paul Mac), made his debut under that moniker with the critically acclaimed Radiated Future EP on James Ruskin's Blueprint late in 2009. Fans of that will not be disappointed, as his clean, spacious, remix drives things forward, taking elements of the original and twists them into something very special. Perc is now firmly established as one of the big hitters of UK techno with regular releases on labels such as CLR, Drumcode, Kompact and Ovum to name a few. His remix of "Don't Stop" is a sure fire floor rocker, splicing delayed elements, extending synthlines and giving it a punch that has been working a treat so far in test plays all over clubland. Wickety Wack was on the flip of the original Don't Stop EP and we had to include it. A big track for the likes of Derrick May and Derrick Carter back in the day, his is pure tribal madness that sounds as fresh as a daisy now as it did in 1996!
