Chris Says... Mark Broom's 'Got Me Working' shot straight to the top of the Juno Sales Charts before selling out and its easy to see why - a big room tune with many influences, it was backed up with huge remixes from Chris Finke, Paul Woolford and new signing Christopher Benjamin The Official Press Says.. Its been a strong 12 months for Flux, with Chris Finke's club smasher 'Petrolbomb EP', the various artists EP 'Chris Finke Presents...vol 2' featuring Drumcode's Agaric with one of his biggest tracks to date, and the dark twisted C-System's 'Playing With Dogs' and the Flux boys are now ready to release what could be their strongest outing yet. Mark Broom has consistently been at the forefront of UK techno since the early 90's. Unlike many of his contemporaries, his style has evolved and he las led from the front as far as musical output is concerned. With releases on just about every groundbreaking label you can name, including R&S, Mowax, Ferox, Pure Plastic, Ifach and Tresor in the early days, to fresh joints and remixes on the leading labels of today like 2020, Cocoon, BPitch Control, Soma, 100% Pure etc, Broom is still among the highest regarded and most prolific producers and DJs in the world. This is Mark's second appearance on Flux; his dark, driving remix of Victor Simonelli's "Latin Impressions" (FR002) is one of our favourite tracks we have put out, and this genre crossing release, we think, sums up the ethos of the Flux label. Based around a booming bass kick, vocals, acid line and driving Strictly Rhythm style percussion, "You Got Me Working" marries the old with the new perfectly, and the result is a powerful floor killer which will stand out in any DJ set. Flux label boss and Atomic Jam resident DJ Chris Finke has been busy of late. Not only has he launched his new radio show "The Drop" with Rebekah (www.thedropshow.com), but he has with EP's upcoming on Firefly Records and Flux, and has also completed remixes for Dark Chambers for (CS Gas Records) and m0dularmatt (Cascabel Records). For his remix of Got Me Working, Chris focusses more attention on the bottom end of the original with a peak time techno workout which . The re-worked synth riff injects more urgency and the breakdown drops like a bomb, proving once again he knows what moves the dancefloor. Christopher Benjamin is a brand new signing to Flux. An established artist from Sweden, Christopher has produced the goods over and above for us on this remix. Taking the original, and working it around a more minimal theme, he has fucked up the vocals and added a bumpin Derrick Carter-style bottom end resulting in a club smasher. Expect much more from Christopher Benjamin in future, with his astonishing debut solo EP to hitting your inbox very soon... Paul Woolford from Leeds is one of dance musics major players. Resident at seminal house music club Back to Basics in Leeds and also arguably the worlds most famous club night "We Love" at Space in Ibiza, his DJ sets are as legendary as his production skills which are as sharp as ever on his Flux debut. His Dub Mix main mix drops the pace slightly and takes it into acid house territory with anthemic chords and crisp 808 beats, strips things down and adds a devastating bottom end to rock the house.
